Our small fishing community was originally built on the sweat and hard work of the Fox Hill watermen and military families who grew up here. Today we are much more diverse community and the needs of our neighbors are many. As a church family, we come together in a number of different ways to serve the needs of those around us. We put our faith in action.
We feed the homeless every 5th Saturday through a partnership with Hampton Roads Ecumenical Lodging and Provisions (H.E.L.P.). This non-profit group assists Hampton residents with rent, utilities, food, and deposits, and relies completely on donations from the public and church memberships like ours.
We support many different programs at Francis Asbury Elementary School. We believe in building up the youth in our neighborhood, and help this school up the road by collecting soup labels, donating school supplies, and adopting families in need at Christmas time.
We organize carolers to sing throughout the Christmas season to shut-ins. Our chancel choir performs an annual cantata during worship. It also presents the cantata at Warwick Forest Retirement Home.
We provide resources and facilities in support of two different Girl Scout troops, offer donations for a local women’s shelter, and supply food donations to our Peninsula Food Bank.
Whatever the need within our waterfront community, our parish has always risen to the occasion. Founded by families of great faith, we’ve learned to weather times of mutual distress and natural disaster. It is in these storms we’ve found our faith to be most tangible, and have discovered the joy in helping each other - it is a part of everything we do, and at the very heart of who we are.
